Brilliant. That alterpiece needs to adorn my revised post next year. I was remiss in not including it. Great post!

Thank you! 🤗

Van Eyck is incredible and as I am still reading House of Niccolo (volume 8) I happily put anything regarding Burgundy in these posts 🤓 Loved the Dunnett mention in your post and the link straight to her books! 👍😂

I did a bit of a Gregory this week and had to curtail my Burgundy adventures for lack of time. Next year. Well done for plugging the holes in my leaky boat as ever!

Your posts are the opposite of a leaky boat. None of them are a Mary Rose. The Spanish Armada would not have sailed if they had read them. They would have sunk themselves.

Haha, hilarious! Like Henry, I'd like my posts to be bigger and better and more princely.

That ship is AMAZING and I fully support your campaign to bring Thurston home where he belongs!

Thank you for this post of wonderful pieces. I think the first cup would tempt me and that ship! Who could resist it. Posts like this take us deeper into the world of Cromwell.

Great post, Andrea. I wondered if the altarpiece was the Van Eyck I had in my head (thanks to Art History 101), then forgot to look it up. Thanks for including it here. :) Those cups and that ship are lovely. I can't blame Henry for wanting them. Awesome finds!
